ARC Driver of the Month: June

It's a month late sure, but you still have to respect the award, & the accomplishments that need to happen to secure a driver of the month award.

There's no better example this month than a driver who not only won the most prestigious race in ARC in June, our annual ARC Indianapolis 250, but essentially doubled his career win total from 4 to 7 over the month alone after spending years in the league.

That driver, of course, is Jake Scarbrough. The JSR team owner led his team to a 1-2 finish in the 2023 ARC Indianapolis 250, playing expert pit strategy by staying out on the final stop of the race, redemption for last year's race in which he crashed out of.

As if it wasn't statement enough though, he came out swinging the next week at Willow Springs, going back-to-back in Indycar, securing the points lead in the series after a controversial finish in which he received a 5 second penalty, but still held on to the win.

Reverse to earlier in the month & you'd have also seen Scarbrough hold on the secure his second ARC Rallycross Championship win of the season, surging to second in the championship, one point ahead of his teammate, and as the highest finishing Volkswagen driver.

He would only finish 14 points off the leader, very close to a maiden championship.

Despite no other podiums in the month, his step forward toward winning and high average finish merits Mr. Scarbrough his first career driver of the month award.
